POKER PAL
Sometimes when new technology whisks in something new the old is forgotten. This is quite often the case with software but it would certainly seem it is not the case with Poker Pal. This is a odds calculator for several card games. Many things are unique about it however; it is the oldest software around of its type. Many die hard users’ state it is still reliable and going strong after being in existence for nearly four years.
The good points about Poker Pal…
This is one of those rare odds calculators you can grow with. Most likely, you will not outgrow it for a long time. Meaning that this software is not only applicable and useful to the new player, it is worth its weight in gold to the seasoned player. From the beginner’s standpoint, it is easy to understand what the software is telling you. Most often, a new player to Poker is overwhelmed with all of the terminology, the “dos and don’ts” and the “best vs. the weakest” strategies. This is where one gets the chance to sit back and observe what the Poker Pal software is telling them. By allowing the player to understand what the information means as well is the best way to use that information.
For the player that has been around a long time and is a self-made expert then there is plug-ins available to expand the functions or there is even a developer’s pack that one can get. This is one of the unique aspects of the Poker Pal.
Then another advantageous feature is the frozen hand. This means that once you fold your hand Poker Pal will play the hand out for you under the presumption that you had called or folded for example. This will allow you to expand your experience. It is sort of a “what if” option.
It comes with an advisor that will give you suggestions of play. This is good for the newcomer that is not too sure of his strategies yet. It is a super way of gaining experience by learning from the plays of the game.
You never have to worry about searching out plug-ins, as they are automatic. This really is a useful feature because then you are never missing any of the updated capabilities of Poker Pal. You must still download the upgrades manually though.
Another great asset of Poker Pal is the several options of varieties of Poker games you can play. For example you have the choice of using this software for Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7 cards stud standard and hi-lo as well.
If one had to find something, they did not like about Poker Pal it would probably be the auto read function. It is kind of an inconvenience more than anything because the poker client has to be loaded through Poker Pal in order to auto read your cards. The drawback is you may forget.
